Fed: MTV concedes no Snoop but wheels out celebs ahead of awards

MTV Australia has finally conceded US rapper SNOOP DOGG won't be part of its flagship
awards ceremony tomorrow night .. after immigration officials banned him from entering
the country on character grounds.

But the music network's managing director DAVE SIBLEY says his inclusion in the line-up
was not a publicity stunt.

MR SIBLEY says he generally thought SNOOP's visa status would be the same now as it
was when we was in the country a couple weeks ago.

When SNOOP was last in Australia his most recent charges for drug and weapons possession
were pending .. but he's since been convicted and handed a five-year suspended jail sentence
.. and 800 hours of community service.
