STORMERS coach Rassie Erasmus says he is delighted by the "freedom on attack" his team showed in their 34-16 win over the Reds in Brisbane.

"I do believe the guys played with more freedom on attack. Let me tell you that that is where we were heading towards with our process," said Erasmus. "Defence is 50 percent of the game. It doesn't help if we just want to attack a bit and defend a bit. You must be convincing in both areas.

"The guys used their instincts today. And that is what you want to see. You want them to play the situation, and I thought they did that well today," he said.
